This question has been asked many times in every MMO beta I've been a part of. But, it looks like Australia will get their wish and have their own dedicated server to play on. IGN AU interviewed Josh Drescher after the news was announced.

IGN AU: What can you tell us about Warhammer Online's local server?

Josh Drescher: The server will be located in the South East Asian region and will ensure that Australian and New Zealand players have the best WAR experience possible. We know there are tons of rabid MMO and Warhammer fans in the region and we know they're sick and tired of having to log on at 3:00 in the morning to play with their friends. We know this because we've been hearing from so many of them demanding Oceanic servers.
I can already hear the cheers but also the next question... 'but I want to play with my friends in North America!' Fear not...

Josh Drescher: Oh, and those who like to connect to the North American servers will still have the ability to do that as well.
